Welcome to the flock George Michael! (I hope someone gets the reference of Maeby & George Michael)

We just picked him up from a rescue; he was part of a 42 budgie seizure, so we don't have any history. He is already pretty chill and tame for a budgie that hasn't been handled! He's very chonky and adorable. He was easy to differentiate from the other normal blue males because he has a white spot on his head! He doesn't have any other markings though, so I don't think he's pied...?

(It isn't ideal that we are adopting him while Percy's not feeling great. However, this was in motion far before Percy got sick.)

A white head spot can indicate either a lightly marked dominant pied or a split to recessive pied.
So he almost certainly has one or the other type of pied blood.
The 3rd option is a head trauma which will result in the white feather coming back blue at his next moult.

Cool! I hope it's permanent because it's very cute, but I'll love him the same if it molts out. I guess the genes don't exactly matter because he will not be a father, but it's still interesting info to have
