10 months does seem young for courting behavior. I think she letting him know she is choosing him as a partner and she might just be wanting some mutual preening. When I let the CB's out Ruby flies over to Casey but she's not a subtle as Akela. They sit out on a rope perch and preen each other. Their bodies are so pressed against each other you couldn't slip a feather in between those two. She wing slaps him, rubs her butt all over him, gives him crap for not fulfilling her needs….. overall…. a pushy demanding hen. While I change papers in the cages I have to keep an eye on those two. Casey fuddles around but doesn't seem to know how to make the right moves, which, delights me to no end that he's a dud in the love department. If he even remotely looks like he has a clue I step in and stand in front of them and RAIN on their parade. They stop their little activity and Casey gets pretty mad at me for interrupting. Too bad Casey…. no shenanigans allowed!!!!! :rofl:
