Hi there Avian Avenue!

I have created an account to hopefully receive some information from you knowledgeable people!

I am based in Western Australia and am interested in adopting an Indian Ringneck from a seller who is elderly. They do have a licence or permit.

Is it possible for me to apply for a licence, and get a permit for this bird (exact DOB of bird is unknown, all I have is a rough age).

I cannot see online resources that cover this sort of topic, adopting/rehoming a bird that may not have a licence already. I have emailed Wildlife Licensing but they can take up to 10 days to respond.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks!! :)

I would have to search the WA info- their laws are totally different to mine here in Vic.
I don’t have time to search and read through everything (sorry) but I’d start with a search on bird/wildlife licenses for WA.

Thank you so much guys!

It actually was quite straight forward, I completed the form and all is good.

We have snakes and the process of application is far more tedious, and you need licence numbers of owners/breeders/etc for approval so I thought it may have been a similar process.

Thanks again!
