Vinyet felt particularly vocal tonight during cuddles with my dad.

She often whines to my dad, often as if she is telling on me. He's pretty sure she's being vocal because I displeased her but I hadn't done anything. She also whines when hands come at her because she thinks people want her to step up and she doesn't want to ever. So that's why she is whining when his hands go near her.

I don't know why she felt vocal tonight but she kept it up even while just sitting on my shoulder without my trying to touch her. I worry sometimes that the people living in my house may find her too loud or something but...I really love vasa sounds.

She is in hormone time and they do call more then.

Thanks for posting that anyways its always interesting to see other breeds of birds and their ability to mimic us or sounds.

Nope. She only seems to whine and make a scared sound so far.
I've caught her making a very, very quiet squeeky chirp when on my shoulder too.
Three sounds so far.

Only a little more than a month. I'm not worried about not hearing her talk yet.
It'll happen. Probably. Peggy has said she talks, but if she never does for me I'll love her still.

She loves you and you are doing a great job at training. She does have your dad wrapped around her little talon....but a little extra love doesn't hurt her. It is all new to her and she needs to feel secure.

You've not had her long so it will take a little time for her to pick up speech and mimicking you.. don't worry I'm sure she will surprise you soon.
