Vet? Help? Questions?

I found a good vet and now have an appointment on Monday. I'm doing the physical exam and a gram stain, Is that all that should be done? Should I just do this and see what the vet says about other tests? Thanks for all the advice, It was really helpful.

No, It's just his first checkup but I'm a little concerned for his wing. Also, are there any other tests I should ask for? Thanks.

I would recommend a CBC (complete blood count) and chem panel too, but that will run you into the hundreds.

Do you only have one bird? My vet is always on my case about disease-testing for the three majors, but I've never bothered.

The vet got back to me today, he said the gram stain came tested 10% gram negative from the vent, (He said he wouldn't be concerned, but it seems pretty high.) and he said 2% from something else, can't remember were that one came from...

He said I can clean the water dish more often and not kiss him, things like that I already know to lower the risk.
