I went into my garden aviary a few moments ago & found my 3.5 year old female budgie on a perch all fluffed up & breathing very hard.
She usually flies out with the other 3 but was missing so I went in to look. There's a lot of watery poop below her perch. She didn't even try to bite me when I picked her up & brought her straight into the house where it's warm, very unusual as she's tame but bites.
Currently she's nestled into my sweater in my arm with a blanket. Closing her eyes, still feathers puffed up & breathing very heavy.
Trying to prepare myself because it's likely she's going to die.
I want to check her over to see if there's any injuries that happened during the night, but will not as she doesn't need the stress. It was a cold night but she's been ok before & the other 3 are ok. We get slugs in the aviary at night could they have caused harm? & Spiders but I'm in London UK so nothing poisonous or that large.
She's still got diarrhea if you can call it that in birds, it's now on my sweater poor thing. The vet was useless last time I took a bird, and no avian vet close by plus it would stress her more.
