Used toys?

I'm in the process of transforming a cage of mine into the ultimate bird cage. Between making sure it's completely safe and finding things to put in it, it's taking a bit of time. I often by used furniture items and have started looking at used bird toys. I'm hesitant to buy one, I'm a worrier and don't want a goofed cleaning to give the chance for anything to spread. What do you all think about used toys?

I always throw away anything that's not non-porous like plastic or metal. No chances.

I wouldn't get used bird toys, too risky. Your better off looking for sales or getting supplies and making your own. Many common items can be made into toys too.

I only accept used toys from people I know personally and know their practices. Some really scary diseases can live a surprisingly long time without a host body.

The only used toys I would offer to birds would be some of the hard plastic baby toys - ones with no small or breakable parts. My GCC's favorite toy is a hard plastic rattle I got for 10 cents at a rummage sale.
