Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of reading and research on probiotics. Namely, I received a recommendation from various breeders to give probiotics to my amazon. Not because of health problems, but because of maintaining a healthy organism, especially now that the season is changing and he is now stepping on his first year of age. I received a recommendation for NEKTON biotic, which I put in his water. I'm interested in your opinion, how much should I give him? I read somewhere that I give him a small scoop in water every day for 30 days. I feed him pellets every day and of course I give him vegetables and fruits and in addition I give him a mixture of seeds for Amazons.

Since I really care about his health, I weigh him every few days, I think that maybe these positive bacteria from the probiotics would give him even more for his health, plus I read that this probiotic reduces stress.

I don't know anything about Nekton Probiotices but I do know that their vitamin/ minerals powder contains a lot of sugar/ glucose, or at least it used too. Many years ago, when I had budgies, I was conned (yup, the guy selling it was a local from a bird club I belong too) into trying it for my budgies. it smelled like it was mixed with Tang orange drink, and super sweet even tasting it. The budgies loved it until we saw a avian vet for their annual visit. All 3 were blood tested with high glucose and 2 of the 3 had gastric yeast infections. it was a huge mess of continuous veterinarian bills. would I use Nekton products most likely not. I was not impressed to say the least.

oh yes, when I opened it, believe it or not, it smelled like chocolate, which tells me and convinces me that what they wrote is true. I haven't tried it, but I'm definitely stopping after 2 doses and will try to find a better quality probiotic. We in the EU don't really have a choice, but I'll definitely figure out something to get hold of Harisson probiotics

My vet actually used probiotics for humans but I can’t recall the name of them I am sorry. Many people here (Aus) use vetafarm products and it seems they ship to many countries to be sold in stores and have done so for years. They are a company who most of our zoos, sanctuary’s and rescues use for food and meds. Maybe an internet search for Vetafarm products will find you a local place that stocks their goods.

ohhh, it is very difficult to get American and Australian products in the EU. There is no choice, I would be happy to take products, especially food, more precisely pellets (currently I use Versele-Laga NutriBird P15) and I sometimes insert seeds from the same manufacturer. We really have no other choice

I'm in the UK and here are a few you can check into from Amazon and Ebay.

I use the Avipro for my 2.

Did you look? They sell to over 45 countries and many zoos use their supportive meds.
