Red Rumps are smallish birds, right? Why not just get a flight cage and keep them in your home?
I don't think it would be fair to take them out of a 6m long avairy setup and place them in a flight cage.

I'm sure you mean well, but I don't feel like judgement is appropriate right now. Ali has experienced some losses in the last few days and is likely already feeling upset without members rubbing salt in the wound.

People here have made some suggestions in case Ali can actually make some alterations (in case he hadn't thought of that particular thing) but he knows his own abilities, and let's not forget that he is subject to his parents' wishes and those of his siblings too. He has given his reasons why he won't be keeping them and it's clear to me that it is not a decision made lightly. Many very experienced members here have rehomed birds for various reasons. It happens.

I'm sure he'd appreciate keeping this thread on topic.
Thank you so much @Khizz :hug8:

It was not an easy decision to make either. I really didn't want to have it come to this. Especially with two recent deaths, I wouldn't want to rehome another animal without a very good reason.

First of all , I admire your passionate defense on behalf of OP.
It is my tendency to not sugarcoat what I perceive . Its unfortunate that i must worry about suppressing my feelings. I was courteous in my straight forward belief/ post.
I am not in anyway trying to make someone feel guilty.
Just my opinion.
I am happy OP has hopefully found a good home for his Parakeets.
I also want to express my concern /reality for anyone who keeps birds housed together.
These tragic events are always a risk.
It's all part of keeping animals.
If you find this offensive, that is you're right.
As is mine.

I hope Ali doesn't encounter any more tragic events.
As always, if the Moderators want to remove my post, or they find my post "off topic, I will respect their decision. "
I know you mean well also ...

Oh of course, no offense taken by me or anything. You are perfectly free to voice your ideas (in whichever fashion you wish!). I just felt it was a tad "fresh" as Ali had experienced two losses in the days before. Also I know that he isn't the decision maker in his household.

But yeah, I hope you don't feel attacked in anyway.

Sorry, I seem to have missed this post. There is no need to remove any posts.

I agree. There are a lot of passionate people here but the judgements hurt sometimes. Its good to have empathy.
