This forum is for advice about initial treatment given to your injured/sick bird until a qualified avian veterinarian is available. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO REPLACE VET CARE
I'm just seeing this now Kristen I'm so sorry Piper got hurt, but I'm relieved to read that you got her to the vet and she's back home. I hope you both get some sleep tonight and she's feeling better in the morning.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Piper's awake and she nibbled a bit at some soft mash. The vet said her appetite might not be the best. She's still subdued, but she's perching alright and let me scritch the back of her neck. I didn't really sleep last night since I was paranoid. Think I'm going to lay down for a nap now that I see her awake and looking more active then she was yesterday.
Those are some great news!! Don't worry too much about her appetite...Lino has gotten his usual eating routine back today...3 days after he got hurt. So that's all normal. It will take some time to snap out of it and be her usual self.
Don't worry, she'll be fine in a few days, you'll see
