I've been meaning to post this for a while for those who are about to give up on converting there fabies to healthier diets. KEEP TRYING!!!
To recap: When I got Ceddy 14+ months ago as a ca. 18months old juvenile, all she'd eat was seeds, some fruits, peas and corn - refusing just about everything else for 9 months...
I tried everything to get her to eat more variety of foods - NOPE ... until I discovered she loves veggies that had been frozen and defrosted (here's the thread)
From then on, I continued feeding her ready bought frozen veggie mixes (that was also heaven sent when I was in hospital, easy for my friend to feed her), then slowly increasing the variety, and freezing some myself, e.g. pumpkin and sweet potatoe and whatever she wouldn't eat fresh, then again started adding fresh (not frozen) leafy greens, some cooked pasta, rice etc.
Well, it worked: She now eats just about everything I put in front of her, veggies, fruit, pasta, rice, even scrambled eggs, bits of cooked chicken and fish (VERY occasionally) - WHATEVER!
The only thing she still refuses is pellets but I found a good dry food mix that, in addition to some seeds, contains lots of dried/kibbled etc. fruit and veggie varieties and I'm still adding pellets hoping she'll get there one day.
