I am so excited! :D

I am bringing home a feather baby tomorrow! She comes from a very loving and caring home. Unfortunately her mate flew away last week by accident and now she is terribly lonely. :( Her owner wants to rehome her to someone who can provide her with good food, lots of space and most importantly... another mate.

I seem to fit all those categories, so anyone care to guess what type of fid I'm bringing home? :D (This shouldn't be too difficult...)

I will, of course, be posting photos when she gets here.

I am thinking Plumhead but also agreeing that a week is a very short time to release the mate.

Well, a Plum Headed Parakeet will be added to my flock in the not-too-distant future... but not today. :)

My brother picked the little girl up today for me (I had to work) and I just saw her for the first time a few minutes ago! She is very cute... but not what I was expecting at all! :(

Ok, take this as a warning that the following photos might be disturbing to some. It isn't a very pretty sight. :(

Please meet Goblin.

Ok, Goblin has a severe mite and worm infestation. It is bad guys. VERY bad. :(

She has scratched her neck and back so much that there are absolutely no feathers left and only scabs. I think some of it has become infected as the skin looks pink with yellow blobs. Any clue what this is? I will take photos of it once my partner comes over to help me.

Here are some photos of her grossly overgrown nails.

She has lumps and bumps in her feet (scaly mites) and her eyes are almost grown shut from them.

She pooped and a worm actually dangled out of her vent!

I treated her with Ivermectin straight away. It looks like I will be staying up with her tonight to make sure all the worms don't clog her vent and cause her to die of constipation.

I will trim her nails once my partner gets here. I feel so sorry for this little one.

Snitch will NOT be meeting her until she has finished a full quarantine!

Not good Kelsey, but very understandable why her mate flew away...

Take good care of her and she'll reward and thank you!

Oh dear, that's not good. :( Poor little thing, she looks really bad!

So glad you got her, she'll be better with time and a real beauty too.

I just finished clipping her nails and she has gone into shock!!! :(

I have placed her in a warm room. The lights are off but the door is a little open so that she has a little light. She will not perch, she is just laying on the bottom of the cage.

Her eyes are still open and she is looking around. I will not disturb her and will just leave her like that for the next hour or so?!?

I don't know what else to do! :(

Also, she is severely malnourished! The thing I thought was infection is actually her spine! Her skin is stretched over her bones and it has sunken into all sorts of cavities! Once you have a good look at her it looks like she has been dead for days. :( I don't know what to think of it all. It just looks atrocious. :(

Sending prayers for the little girl. What can you feed a malnourished canary?
