Unhappy parrot

Lupita, my double yellow head parrot looks sad. She was bitting her legs and I saw blood all over the cage. i ask by phone to a med and told me to use oral wash like Listerin to her legs on a spray to kill what looks like mites. He also said that mites can even may have come from its foods. Well, its been a week since she stop biting her legs but she was very happy now shes so quite im very worried.
