Does anyone know of any uk parrotlet breeders were you can meet the birds?

Before you say it, I have considered adopting, and check adoption sites often in case one needing a forever home shows up.

Preferably within about 100 miles off the Dorset area!

Thank you, Ali!

Is it babies you're looking for? Do I have to have been there to suggest a breeder?

Ooh one more thing... are you looking for an aviary bird or a bird that is a pet? Any price max? Sorry to bother you :)

i think there's a person in Bristol that does parrotlets, not sure if tame or aviary, but im sure they would know the breeder.

R&D birds, im sure he would help you locate hand reared or tame ones if he doesn't.

or maybe try manadon birds in Plymouth (depending what part of Dorset your in?)

ive only met him a few times, when i was looking for my first, he mainly specialises in aviary birds but he was super helpful, spent ages chatting to me even refused to sell me any of his as they weren't tame.

I know of riverside. Later in the year Implan to go over and have a look. I think most of their birds are aviary bred, which puts me off, not because they are not tame, but because they are used to a massive, outdoor living space, and them going indoors to a cage.

There's also Hayley Baker in South Wales but I don't know if she's still breeding. If you're a member of the Parrot Society UK then I would contact them - they have a list of breeders and towards the end of the summer, will publish a list of all the babies bred this year.

Thank you! I am not a member but it seems it would be worth considering it.

Join a parrot society! It is a good way to get connected with parrot oriented breeders and also to participate in club activities. We have the Parrot Convention every few years in Brisbane.

It was going to be this year but covid has postponed it :(

Hey!

I’ve just come across this post after googling ‘parrotlets in Dorset’.
Did you have any luck finding a parrotlet breeder in Dorset?
I live in Dorset too and am interested in finding a reputable parrotlet breeder.
