If your current bird will enjoy a friend I dont worry about the human/bird bond. It is what makes your bird happy that is more important. The bond will not be broken but second bird will grab the attention of your current bird. We get this question often.

Does getting a second bird change your bond with first ?

Not for me.
Of 3 birds, my relationship stayed the same after they bonded with another bird.
(2 bonded from the nest and we have a good relationship. 1 is single. And the last, I didn´t have much of a relationship with her and she quickly bonded to one of my birds.)
