I'm so sorry for your birds pain.

Is there a bird specific store near you? You may want to call them and ask if they can help in the meantime. The lady that owns the birdstore here in Denver knows more than you can imagine about birds. I read that article on that issue, and it says the bird needs antibiotics. Maybe they can help you with that at least. I'm sure a bird store would have antibiotics on hand and be willing to help Identify the issue and maybe help you in some way until you can afford a vet. I don't have any other advice than that.

I don't want to put more stress on you, but I know all to well that once it's too late...it's too late.

Yes in fact my mother just went there about 30 minutes ago but sadly the bird specialist didn't know anything about the problem shes going threw.. >_<
I know I'm so fearful for her I'm just happy that whatever she has its still at a small stage so maybe she can hold on a little bit longer..i can only hope.

What about a rescue in the area? You never know where you might be able to find help... If it meant saving the bird's life, do you think your mom would consider giving the bird to a rescue so they could take care of it? If not, she may end up with a dead bird anyway. I'd be too afraid to wait and hope... :hug8: Continuing to send good thoughts and healing energies

She would if she could.
I'm afraid we don't have anything like that where i live.. We live in Reno, Nevada and everyone is cutting back here thats why we cant find any vet that will accept payments. :(

Darn, trying to help. :(
You said she's picking at the bump right? Am I correct to say that it would be a good idea to try to keep her from doing that? (looking for answers from the bird owners here)
Maybe making a little collar for her so she cannot reach it?

Thank you even your support is very helpful! ^_^
And yes she is picking at it but she does stop when we open the blanket up and talk to her cause shes focused on us so she doesn't pick her butt. We have a blanket around the cage to keep her warmer.
Our birds are a little scared of us and were worried if we reach in the cage and try to pick her up it will stress her out more. Were really in a bad situation i wish my mom had of done more research on budgies before she bought one.. were going to have to train them and take alot of time for them to get use to being around humans because right now they run to the other side of the cage even when just looking in at them.

If somebody could can i please get a link to exactly what a prolapse is and what causes it or have someone explain it?
A prolapse is basically when the reproductive organs start to come out of the vent. It can be from trying to lay an egg (or thinking that they're laying an egg) or other health conditions. It needs to be replaced back inside of her, and sometimes the vent needs to be stitched to keep it in.

I hope she will be ok until she can see a vet :hug8:

The only real solution for this is medical treatment. As mentioned the vet needs to put the organs back inside and most likely give her a couple of stitches to keep it in there. It's VERY important to keep it moist and not let her pick at it.

Here is a video about prolapse.

John, that's a great video, thanks, I definitely learned something. And you said #14 which means there must be at least 13 others? I'm going to go investigate :D
