Trimming nails

If I was going to trim my Indian ringnecks nail would I use a regular nail cutter or something bigger.

Honestly, you're more likely to nick the quick (the blood vessel in the nail) if you're inexperienced and don't know what you're doing. My vet uses a dremel to file Leia's nails which I don't think I'm brave enough to do myself, but he has the experience to know exactly how much he can take off.

Yeah. You at least need to see a vet do it several times before even attempting it yourself.

If you are comfortable doing it, and can easily see the quick or know about how much to take off, I personally use human nail clippers the normal ones for my small species and the toenail clippers for my Amazon.
You can see the quick if your birds toenails are white/transparent. :)
