Looking for ideas on what people use when traveling with their bird. Going to see family for thanksgiving and want to take our Ty with us. About a 4 hour drive and spending 1-2 nights. Not sure if there is a travel cage that works for in the car and as a cage for while we are there too. Something that can fit in the backseat of our truck but big enough to be in while there too.

We currently use a modified cat carrier for our conure. It doesn't work well for an overnight cage. If we had to spend the night somewhere, I would probably look into the cage we previously used for our TAG (both car travel and overnights) -

I’ve also used this for my CAG in the car and as a short weekend cage. I like it and it’s spacious enough for a short weekend.

Now I keep one at my dad’s house and use my Pak-O-Bird carrier in the car.

Not sure if there are special space considerations for your bird bc of tail length.

Good luck.

There are lots of sizes of the wire cages. My GW sleeps in a wire cage.
