Hi all, first off I want to say that parrot food is not my bird's main source of food. I feed him mostly freshly chopped veggies, a nutriberry, a couple almonds, with the occasional piece of fruit.

That said, I was wondering if occasionally it would be okay for me to put a tablespoon or less of Kaytee's Forti-diet in his dish, replacing the almonds. When I got my bird, I was given a HUGE bag of the stuff and I would hate to see it go to waste. This definitely would not be his main source of food. I would keep the fresh veggies and nutriberry. I was just wondering if feeding him this stuff a couple times a week would hurt his health, due to the fatty seeds in it.

I don't know what's in Kaytee's Forti-diet, but you can probably sprout the seeds for him.

I usually allow 1/2 tsp of seed a day for smaller birds :) I like to put it in foraging toys. Most seeds are healthy in moderation
