I looked up Tinamous as someone else had mentioned them and I'd never heard of them.
They are very interesting! This video had many interesting points.
I especially found the egg colors amazing (time markers 3:22 and 5:33) and thought their way of "perching" looked unique and scary (about 6:20 time marker).

I can't believe that they have not been domesticated just for those egg colors.

When a bird type has not been domesticated their tends to be an obvious reason.
Hard to aquire due to isolated natural location.
Hard to keep due to being big and vicious. Think Cassowary.
Hard to feed due to restricted diet. Think Mistletoe bird.

You should try listening to this
Then imagine my backyard when a flock of 6 - 10 come visiting.
I think I would be out there loving life just sat watching them

I mostly watch them from the back verandah.
They are a very cautious bird, but are getting used to reading body language, and realising that hubby and I like their visits.
Sadly too many people do not like their visits and grumble about the noise and the mess. They tend to drop a lot during their feasting.
