There is something sticking out of my finch’s cloaca!

Today morning I noticed that he had a little bump on his cloaca that was visibly disturbing him. I didn’t think anything of it because I thought it was poo stuck to his feathers. Some time later when he was sleeping, I saw that something long pinkish-white was sticking out of it. It got longer and longer until a second „stick“ was sticking out. Even my other finch noticed and started picking it. Then my finch immediately pulled it back in and it wasn’t visible anymore.
Does anybody have an idea what it may be? Or saw something similar?
I really couldn’t find anything on the internet.
I am really worried and wanted to call the vet tomorrow morning but I really can’t stop thinking of it.
I just got the two male finches 10 days ago and they are just three months old.
He still poops and eats normally.

I can’t clearly see your picture but I’m wondering if there’s any chance it looks like a worm?

It might be a good idea till you know what is going on to separate your birds.

@Zara any ideas?

Thank you for your fast response! It really didn’t look like any sort of worm. It looked like it’s something from his anatomy but after researching I really couldn’t find anything similar in a birds anatomy.
i will try separating my birds. They are sleeping now because it is very late in my country.

Hopefully some other knowledgeable members will be along soon to offer their opinion.

Do you already have an avian vet? If not it may be a good idea to locate one.

Thanks, I hope so too. I unfortunately don’t but I already located one nearby and will call them as soon as possible.

I thought of that aswell but aren’t cloacal prolapses normally round? This is what confuses me because the shape is so different..

The cloacal tissue is pink and in prolapse looks like the bottom is turning inside out.
This has me very curious. I’d like to see a better picture, can you have someone hold the bird while you take a photo?
