Many wild parrots of different species are living in or near LA. Scientists are being requested to find out why. Citizens are complaining about the noise.

I haven't actually watched the video yet, but this is an issue now in many areas of Brazil. Of course many parrots are native to the country, but now there are huge flocks of "previously-not-here" parrots in many cities and suburbs. A lot of this is because birds escape from homes and are then able to survive in the "wild". Not to mention that their natural habitats are being diminished every day.

The reasons for parrots leaving their natural Habitat could be a another sign of the wreck we have done to our planet. In some ways i am glad i am old because i may not see it continue.

I've seen them flying around many times. I always think it's "cool" to see them. They are squawk very loudly as they fly across the sky.

Don't know but if someone sets up bird feeders in their yard and the wild parrots want to eat from those I don't see an issue with that. One of my friends had a bunch of them
perching in a fruit tree in his yard.
Sometimes the babies fall out of the nests and are not reclaimed by the parents. Someone rescued two babies and turned them over to my birds' vet.
They were lilac crowned Amazons. Vet wanted to know if I would take one but no more room here. However, thinking back, I sort of regret not taking one of the babies.

If I lived in the area I would get a platform feeder for them. Then blow the budget for bird food. Guess a wild bird does not need pellets. Wonder how many different species are there.

good read

I've found out that it is illegal to feed wild animals including birds in California. This is sort of strange because people put out bird feeders and they are for sale in stores so I don't think this law is something that is being applied at least when it comes to birds. However, if you feed peacocks in the city where I live you can be fined. There are a few signs posted about this in different locations.
