A tiny baby grass snake!

They only grow to about 90-150cm and are non-venomous. My last workplace in Sussex had a pond that I liked to eat lunch by, and I once saw an adult grass snake silently slip into the water to hunt. They're very elegant snakes.

Awww! Did you find it?

We are so lucky here, because I live right near heaths and woodlands and marshes (so most UK habitats) and we have every species of reptile in the UK on our door step. We don't often see tjen, but we have had sand lizards and assets in our back garden, and see slow worms and lizards on walks.

Sadly not, although I do live practically next to the London Wetlands Centre. We had foxes fighting/play-fighting under our window at 2am last night - happy to swap them for some sand lizards if you're interested?

We have our own foxes that come by every night. Me of them had mange (not sure how to spell it?) so we contacted the fox people and we got sent some treatment and he is all better now. We get new cubs each year and it's nice to see them grow up. We get really loud snuggling hedgehogs too, but we never actually see them

My sister feeds the hedgehogs in her garden. If she's too late with their dinner, she'll sometimes find a hedgehog waiting by the bowl. They have a real "I would like to complain to the manager" air about them.

We once didn't feed the fox, and woke up to find the bowl had been through across the garden and upturned! Talk about attitude!

Love the little noodle!! :cloud9:

My mum is a member at Martin Mere WWT, I always visit when in the UK - it´s not too far from her house :)

Tell your sister we would like some pics please :) :angel1:

Sounds like my doves! They peck on my window if the bowls empty and I´m still sleeping. I swear if I leave the window open they would come in... in fact I know they would because the other day my boyfriend made the mistake of leaving the door open and leaving the room while I was not there and I walked in to find a grumpy dove sat on my chair waiting for the bowl to be filled o_O

We found this little milk snake hiding under a tarp a few weeks ago:
