Aww Congrats, Skyler is gorgeous! And So heartwarming to see your flock be so accepting of her I look forward to reading your updates!

She came right out again today.

Opened their doors like I always do after work and a few minutes later when I checked on everyone, this little lady was sitting with Sammy and Mimi.

Miss Skyler has taken to visiting Mimi and Sammy in the big flight cage lately. It’s wild how well she fit in my little flock, she’s still nervous but such a playful sweetheart!

She does stay in her cage overnight but an open door is an open door, to Skyler.

Mimi is more than welcoming to her fellow hen but Sammy likes to complain about her taking the best millet spots, and Skyler’s just happy for the company and all these new fun toys.
Sam will give both of them an earful over his millet, even though there’s plenty to go around. He’s such a card.


Queen Mimi doesn’t concern herself with such trivial matters. She knows the snacks are always boundless.

Oho, look who’s foraging today! Had to snap a sneaky photo.

This perch by @Mizzely is a favorite with my little guys.
I also found out something pretty cool yesterday. My coworker who asked me to take on Skyler actually got this pair from Dr. Susan Clubb! I was shook. They were being retired from breeding due to not producing.

In Sky’s case, mainly because of her short legs, she couldn’t incubate eggs properly. Unfortunately still no luck on finding out exactly how old Skyler is. Her open band makes it even more of a mystery!

The DIY Double Flight cage is complete, and wowza I’m obsessed. It’s awesome!

I definitely wanna add lots more but the chaos is being reigned in for now.

Thank you April! It came out better than I could of hoped.

They were quite peeved at me last night for continuing to work past their bedtime, I will say!
Sammy especially, if he could, he’d of been grumbling something fierce.
