and that means I now have a way to mount the cell phone on the telescope and get passable photos. The Kestrels are out and about BUT I have a Stunt Crow as a stand in. I should be able to get better pictures with a little practice.

Might want to invest in a decent point and shoot with a built in mega zoom. Should be reasonabley cheap and can do what you want. I have a decent Google Pixel 6 and a Canon dslr and I mostly use the Canon T3 when I'm home with a selection of normal and zoom lenses. The phones these days take nice pictures but having complete control for shots like that can be very handy. The Panasonic Zoom cameras ueed to be excellent for the money.
