I braved the freezing temperatures and vicious wind yesterday and walked the 75 yards or so to the shrunken Rio Grande. Got these shots of a Red Tailed Hawk (who seems to have a problem with his left foot).

Thanks! The hawk is still hanging out at our spot on the river. I walked up on him today. Could have grabbed him almost. He flew up to the same tree from the other day. They say Red Tailed Hawks may be one of the few birds with olfactory ability so I threw out some ribs. He's definitely got something going on with that left foot. Had a hard time landing. Wish I could help him. Must be hard to hunt that way.
