The Good, the Bad and the Ugly about African greys

The good? Great companions, and they talk.
The bad? Sometimes they won't shut up. Mine still comes out with a couple of curse words he learned from brother in law when we were on our honeymoon 28 years ago.

Very true, and almost every evening, after dark, Paco turns into Mr. Chatterbox, I really need to teach him some new words.

The good:

• Will chatter and talk to me all day long.
• Loves to play and be chased, then do the chasing
• Very open to trying new things as long as he feels safe
• Very affectionate, loves to cuddle in the crook of my neck

The bad:

• Doesn’t care for my husband much. Bit him hard a few times but I do think that was hubby’s fault. I’m better at reading Nellie’s body language. Hubby tries to interact with Nellie like how one would with a dog. He’s working on it.
  

I don’t have many “bads”. I know Nel’s dusty but I take him outside when I can and he shakes. Baths help and so do air filters. He can be a messy eater at times but he has so much fun with it that I don’t mind the clean up. Wish I could turn his waste into a face cream, I’d make some serious bank.
