Ever touched by Seamus!!!!! This is a really big deal! Seamus has not touched a single darn toy since I’ve brought him home. First his beak was too painful and then I think he just didn’t want or know how to destroy those fun colorful toys.

Now he’s next to Bowser and seems interested in his playfulness, so I figured since he hadn’t touched the other toys I gave him in a long time that I’d try to outfit his cage with budgie toys. Sounds silly, but I figured the balsa budgie toys would give him the feeling of being a real big macaw with destroying power again.

I went to turn off the lights tonight and saw this! He is clearly proud of himself.
Thank you for the awesome toy @Macawnutz! Looks like I need to make a little budgie sized toys order for Seamus.

Oh my goodness! It's about time he tries chewing something. 1/2" carved balsa pieces. For a macaw he has expensive taste.
It's a start though. He has to start somewhere! At least it's wood.

@MiniMacaw - I'm glad he's playing with toys, but what is impressive is how great his feathers look and how he is perched up, bright eyed and alert. Not like a sick bird at all. I so hope that Dr. Driggers is wrong just this one time.

In person he really does shine. He’s doing so well right now and that’s all I can ask. If he keeps getting his fresh foods, treatments and love, I really think he’s going to surprise even Dr. Driggers.

Oh, that is so wonderful! Have you tried giving him some yucca, maybe? I get the big cylindrical shaped pieces, and split them in half, so that the soft interior is exposed more. I'm wondering if he'd mess with the crunchy "rind" any.
