What breed are they?
How many more are there still in the egg?Silkie
I love Silkie chickens! I have always said some day I will have some. Your babies are so cute!Silkie
They are sooooo cute and look big. If you take another pic can you please put something next to them for a size comparison. They look like they have hair and not feathers. What do they feel like?
Thank you for the advice! These aren't my first silkie chicks but I still welcome tips.Awe! So cute.
I have had silkie chicks before. Keep an eye on their undersides. They have very dense fine feathers and can have things stick to them very easily compared to other breeds. If you notice anything stuck, don't pull it off. Wipe it off with warm damp rag and you can blow dry them with a cooler temp before returning to the brooder.
Give them something soft to walk on. The paper towel isn't enough on its own. I would lay a junky towel or something under it.
Keep the photos coming!
You can place the paper towel overtop for easier cleaning, but I think a towel will be better than a hard bottom.Thank you for the advice! These aren't my first silkie chicks but I still welcome tips.
I normally use wood chips, but haven't put any in yet, is a towel better then this?
To me there's nothing much cuter then a silkie chickMy silkies were cheeky little ones. He grabbed a bit of bread and went cruising away with it.
I can't believe this was 5 years ago.
