Ever since I moved to Wisconsin I’ve gotten gradually more and more itchy. It’s worse after I shower. I’m allergic to pretty much any mold and my body has a high level of candida which never seems to go away ever. I’m trying this tea tree oil balm and shampoo cause my face is red and itchy and sore and nothing else has worked. The problem is I’m worried it being on my face will be harmful to my quaker and I may need it for an extended amount of time cause like I said nothing but has been working moisturizers actually make me worse.. much much worse. It costs me $500 to see dermatologist so that’s gonna be awhile.. I’m just concerned if the low concentration in this balm would be dangerous? It’s pretty low on the ingredients list..

Be careful very careful. Tea tree oil can make parrots sick. Try to use it when you are not around bird as much possible.

But the problem is my agonizing rotting pizza itch face so at this point this is the only thing that seems to be working. I need it for the anti fungal this is my own health issue… I know in my life no one cares about my health but I can’t afford a doctor that’s $500 so I tried everything else I could and this is actually anti fungal. Should I put him in the other room when I use it? He’s across the living room I’m so tired of looking awful and itching

If you have serious skin problems because of candida you really should see a Dr or specialist.
You may actually be making things worse for yourself if you’ve chosen the wrong product for your skin type and problem.
Your diet may very likely need changing and you may also need a proper medical anti fungals and maybe even other medications if you’re suffering from candida infections.
Food intake is often a big factor so getting proper treatment for your problem is the best solution.

I barely eat anything to begin with so I don’t see what I could possibly change I only eat pasta and salmon lol. Either way I’m unlikely to change how I eat I barely like anything to begin with and I eat very cheap cause I’m poor. Most of my money has gone to giving the bird the meds he needed cause the place I got him sold me a sick bird so I’ve been taking care of that. He didn’t deserve such a bad past. Like I said I can’t afford the $500 initial to see a doctor and I’ve already seen three and they wrote it off without even testing me. Im not interested in wasting more money for the same wrong diagnosis.

but I know my body is overrun with candida it’s always has been I’ve just dealt with it but I also know the reason this skin thing even started was cause my landlord had a bed bug scare in the neighborhood 6 years ago at my old place and they sprayed onslaught on my pillow and I’ve had really crappy skin on my head ever since. It’s just been manageable after dealing with bright red skin for two years after that. No one listens about the insecticides though..

Hm. I have had skin issues (severe acne, stress/heat induces outbreaks of hives that can last a long time), and I'm a little surprised you mention tea tree oil-- it is antifungal but can make irritation (esp. dryness) worse, not better.

The concentration matters. I use a Dr. Bronner's soap with tea tree oil in my shower (adjoins the budgies' room) but it is diluted enough that I don't worry about it.

I definitely empathize with your financial situation (and with failing to get a good diagnosis, that sucks and drains your energy), but it also sounds a bit like you've decided to go ahead with this no matter what and were hoping for a second opinion that confirmed it was okay. If you truly feel like you have no other option, I would schedule the time you are around your bird so that it is when your treatment has worn off. If you put it on, do it in another room, and don't feed/interact with the bird if you can strongly smell the tea tree oil. If you put it on at night, I wouldn't sleep in the same room as the bird. If I'm applying makeup setting spray or hairspray, I do it in my car or outside our apartment on the porch (keeping it in my car actually works with my routine).

None of this is researched or professional advice! Just trying to apply common sense to your situation. Unlike certain undetectable fumes, at least the smell of essential oils is a clue to their concentration. There is a difference between me using soap with tea tree oil in the shower in a room next to my birds with the vent fan on (washes off, unlike a clinging lotion or balm), and applying the concentrated oil directly to a bird's body. Weirdly, I still see that recommended on older bird sites.

I think this stuff has to has really low concentration cause I can barely smell it and I have an ultra sensitive nose. It looks like it’s mostly jaboba oil. It doesn’t seem to irritate my skin like moisturizers seem to be irritating and if it is candida at least it would be dying with the anti fungal. It’s definitely way worse the hotter it gets. The weird part is after the bed bug spray it took 3 years and useless doctors for it to fade off and it was tolerable but after moving to Wisconsin it flared up really bad and showering in cold water or hot any just makes me itch worse even if I have a water filter. I’ve always been super careful but I don’t know what to do at this point since my insurance isn’t even switching at my job til July and it’s still hundreds to see a doctor who will probably still get it wrong so.. I’m in a rock and a hard place here. He’s across the room about 15-20 feet and the only reason he’d be close to be is he likes to launch himself to the floor and run over. I don’t wanna use this stuff forever cause but I just need it to stop being red

and he does sleep in the living room so he’s not in the bedroom when I sleep. I was gonna put it on twice a day but I can try using it at night only

note an example of crappy doctors. I’m pale and they instantly assumed rocesea. Or the doctor that saw white flecks in my hair and said it was lice and not the obvious dandruff (it was dandruff)
