Hello! Hope you are having a wonderful day. I have a birb named Sunflower. he's a 6-7 month old cockatiel. His favorite treat is millet! He's in a kind of small cage, so I ordered a larger cage that's going to be perfect for him. He doesn't like to come out of his cage/play with toys, so I thought I might teach him target training->step up training. The problem is, he has no reaction to the stick. If I put it right next to his beak he might bite it, and then I reward him, but I don't like scaring him like that. I've tried to teach him clicker training but it didn't work. So, my question is what is the best way to teach target training? He's not really curious about the stick, either.
Thanks for any help!
