Was able to get a good molt to sex from Narcissa the T. rasti and Luna the C. cyaneopubescens...looks like they are both males:arghh: The T. rasti is pretty big so I’m thinking he’ll mature out next molt, hoping the other rasti I have is female.

Some updated photos!

Luna - Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens, male

Remus - Psalmopoeus cambridgei

Peter - Heterothele villosella, love this one for some reason! Cool markings and always out.

Draco - Psalmopoeus pulcher

Bellatrix- Caribena versicolor

And the 3 new guys! I’m giving the true spiders a try again! Less humidity this time. I don’t have pictures of the 3rd guy thats not a true spider that’s new since right now it’s a pile of dirt but it’s a Tapinauchenius plumipes - Nimbus.

Charlie - Heteropoda davidbowie, yes I reused the name haha

Hedwig - Heteropoda lunula, highly recommend you google adult photos. They are very cool freaky looking adults. Blue/purple!

Excuse my complete ignorance, please...

I love watching our native tarantulas migrate. There are so few, which is heartbreaking. I recall stories about the thousands that my grandfather watched in the Oklahoma panhandle growing up, and I wish I could get a chance to see that.

Very cool collection. Very long wish list!

Yes it’s the mature males moving towards where the females borrow and live. If they are lucky they will find one and not get eaten by her before he can breed. Most likely he will get eaten by her after. Either way the mature males die before their next molt even if they escape the female.

Thanks! I’m unlikely to get them all but I always add the ones I find interesting to the list.

I also had someone ask me on another group about the label colors that you can see in some pictures. So the colors go like this:

Blue - New World Arboreal
Purple - New World Terrestrial/Fossorial
Silver - Anything Old World or True Spider

I found a huge (like I mean really big) spider living in my fish pond checking my goldfish out, he was completely submerged in the water for ages and by the time I had found a container to trap him in he had disappeared from my view but he is still around the pond somewhere going by all the dead smaller spiders and insects I keep finding out there. I wish I could find him and move him before he decides he needs to eat my goldfish :(
I also have a few nice sized spiders of some sort living in my window sills but I keep that quiet so the others I live with do not insist I kill them lol.
We also have some really decent sized huntsman spiders and wolf spiders outside. One massive hunstman living in the poles holding our veranda up is a treat for me to see late at night catching bugs. They are fascinating to watch but I do not know much about them other than the huntsmans are a favorite food of white tail spiders (I learned this the hard way :( ) and the wolf spiders are excellent at jumping some really surprising distances ;)

It’s amazing what some of the larger ones can take down as prey! Hopefully he doesn’t get the goldfish:eek: I still get a little freaky about loose random spiders but I’m better than before. I’m not even sure why lol but I have moved some from inside to outside all polite like now. I have some arboreals that are really supposed to be able to jump far and so fast people call it teleporting....I’m hoping I never experience it first hand I’m not sure how that would go:rofl::faint:

Australia has some enormous spidies. Truly scary how much stuff you guys have that can kill you!

I do like the big ones here, and jumpers are my favorite. We're a mostly spider friendly family.

We do have lots of fascinating (and deadly) creatures here but growing up with them around you means that you kinda accept it and have safety rules sort of ingrained into your brain. Lol.

It’s getting warmer now so I expect to see many more of the really good size wolf spiders (that do really seem to teleport) and also lots of brown snakes.

Usually lots of micro bats about in the warmer months too.

Awwww, MAAAANNNNN! I miss my T's. They really are like potato chips. You can't have just one. My favorites were always the bad-nasties. OBT's, H. Mac's, stramatopelma. Oh! And I had the most horrible/ beautiful H. lividum......and about 40 other species. I seriously need a 12 step program.

I really want Stromatopelma calceatum but have put it off because of the stories lol. Even though I did read a lot of people saying H macs are right up there too and have one of those. It’s still a sling though and I never see it at the moment.

Fufius sp. gold, Nagini Y. Sexed from recent molt as male.

T. rasti, Narcissa, Male

Cyriocosmus elegans - Sprout

Harpactira pulchripes - Blaise

P. cambridgei, Remus. I rehoused it & now I can’t get a clear picture:crycry2:

I rehoused Fleur & Snitch into these & I completely overestimated how big they were right now lol. Definitely their adult enclosures since I can only find them easily after they webbed up in a spot.
