Has anyone successfully tamed a canary that was not hand fed?

Hmm, I imagine it's possible but I wouldn't know where to start. @Macawnutz

I got one pretty tamed but it was a foster that was rehomed before I could do more.

I kept its cage in my dining room and sat near it every day then started hand feeding it millet. I was able to let it out and it would come to me to eat.

It’s worth a try.

Mine is tame to a point he lands on me and around me and he “comes with me “ I point to things and he comes ,I have only had parrots so I treated him like that . We are in my bedroom at night and in the morning when I’m ready I say come on you ready and he comes to his cage and we wheel out in the living room , we read together play together , his cage has got toys and he plays with them and me and we look at stuff together. He is the best ! He will land on my finger soon I know it ( fingers crossed)we play a lot with the sun reflection off my I pad he just loves that
