I was wondering if any one knows if our birds can play with sweet gum balls from the sweet gum tree? the tree is safe I wondered if the seed pods were safe as well. These would be great for foraging.

That is one I don't know right off hand! I know lots of birds eat them though. I can't find anything specifically about parrots, though

I found this statement doing a Google search:

Do birds eat sweet gum seeds?

Many birds, such as mourning doves, finches, quail, and turkey, Eastern Towhee, Carolina Chickadee, Slate-Colored Junco, and White-Throated Sparrow feed on the seed of Sweet Gum, as do small mammals such as chipmunks and squirrels.

Though when in doubt the best advice is dont.
