Look how tiny this lesser vasa is!
Oh, he's so adorable!

I do think this person has largeish hands though. Lessers are only a little smaller than a grey, I believe. Keely the lesser vasa on youtube seems to be that size, at least.

He is really cute. I don't know much about Vasa's, but I'm becoming dangerously fascinated.

I imagine I know a fair bit of what is out there on vasas after these nearly four years, but it feels like so little compared to the level of information available on other parrots.

Can't imagine there are too many Lesser Vasa names Keely, so I assume we'd be talking about the same bird....

I know Keely's owner and have met the little rascal, she is smaller than a Timneh and lighter. She has large wings, which might give the impression that she is bigger than she actually is. She doesn't look as small as the one of the picture though, but maybe the guy does have big hands and is holding a smaller specimen, maybe a male as they are oftem smaller than the female, or a different subspecies. Sam's Congo Grey is also small for the species and she herself is small as well, so maybe that makes Keely look a bit bigger in pictures.

I was going to reply sooner, but I just gave call her and ask so I had a number for you: Keely weighs approx 230g. Here's a picture of me holding her, I guess my hands are smallish compared to many people. Hope that helps.
