My double yellow crowned amazon only eats the sunflower seeds and at time the peanuts. It’s such a waste of parrot food and I know they are fatten. She like red pepper and green apple. Can I just feed her wild bird sunflower seeds? What was so you recommend. She also loves lafebers nutri berries and Millet. The seed food is tricky.

Wild bird sunflower seeds are too high in fat (they are usually the black ones as wild birds need lots of energy) - plus if they haven't been stored properly they will contain mould/aspergillus spores just like the peanuts. She needs a proper balanced diet... it will be lacking if she is just eating sunflower seeds and peanuts. Nutriberries at least contain some goodness. Have you tried her on pellets? That's great she likes red pepper and green apple, add other fruit and veggies to her food bowl... like carrots, broccoli, sugar snap peas, mango, pomegranate, red grapes, etc. There will be food wastage but it is worth it to try to get her to eat more healthily. You could try sprouting grains and legumes too.

A diet of just sunflower seeds is in no way close to a complete diet. A diet of any one thing is not complete, no matter what it is. Have you tried a pellet?
