Sudden death

Six months ago I adopted two parrotlets who were pair bonded and hands off. They've had a really nice change in my house having freedom and big cages and lots of toys and a variety of food but lately there has been some head plucking.. which I read could be normal mating behavior... but I tried to give them some separate time and adjust the environment to make it more engaging.. seemed to be going well.. I thought her head feathers were maybe coming back a little.. then this morning I found her dead on the floor of the cage. I don't know what to do.. I don't know what happened or why and im afraid for the remaining birds health and happiness. Maybe she needs to go to a new home with more birds like her?

You could take her body to the vet for a necropsy if you want to try get some more answers.

Sorry for your loss. Since you have another bird it would be a good idea to get a necropsy on the one who passed and also consider bringing the other one to the vet for a check up.
