Stuffed the flash on my camera I think

I was taking photos this morning and it was fine. I took some more photos later while the babies were having their veggies and everytime the flash came on there was thing little bang and a really bad (burnt-out) smell came from the flash. I haven't used it again but it still stinks a little.

I'm assuming I'm probably going to have to take the camera into a camera store? anyone know what would cause this to happen?

No, that's NOT normal. I would definitely take it into the place you got it, or if you ordered it take it to a camera store. What flash did you end up getting?

Assuming it's an onboard flash, you'll have to take/send the camera in for repair.
