The popetop brand sells a square cave one that would be a no no. To much like a breeder box, plus has fuzzy lining

The “breeder” actually didn’t breed the birds, he bought them, hand raised them, then sold them! A nice bird store in my city does that also. The guy didn’t give the age in weeks but in months (He has a band on his foot saying year of birth). This was my first time buying a bird from an individual, I’ve bought all my previous birds from bird stores.

Anyways my birds name is Milo! And he’s doing great, he is pretty comfortable sitting with me already! He is a bit of a biter but only when he’s on/in his cage, but I was prepared for that. He’s even letting my touch his head! I’ve only ever kept budgies that have never been a fan of being petted lol.
Welcome home Milo!!!

Ok , then that's likely were the stress to baby came from. Being switched to a different hand raiser, plus the move and new surroundings. and may have been kept alone, many do this , but can be more stressful on baby. Or may have been placed with non clutch mate babies, which can be more stressful. Individuals can be more sensitive to things like this. And over preening starts as a self soothing thing.

I'm glad you got a fully weaned baby!

Sounds like wonderful progress with Milo so far!

I know he was raised with other birds but I’m not sure if they were from his clutch, I do believe he had siblings being raised near him, but I’m not sure if they were with him!

Nothing wrong with this.
But I'm glad you shared because for my curiosity, I think explaining the very very minor feather issues.

Really looks like a lovely qusker with a great personality.
Keep spending lots of time together. This is a great age to expose them to every kind of veggies you can. Babies look to their flock so chomp on some with him/her!

I love the look of that one!.. and so happy to see someone designed a "fabric-free" hut type thingy!!

So far I have avoided everything with rope, string, or cloth because I worry about my birds eating parts of it (crop impaction) or getting caught in a frayed part and being injured while I'm at work.

I had never seen these.
Thanks!

I saw that (sold out).. Still it looks like it was developed by someone who had bird safety in mind.
I think a lot of commercial bird toys are designed to appeal to the owner, not the bird.

I feel blessed to have found AA and the vendors here! There is a lot of crud peddled to birdie parents online..

It's awesome to know our vendors are also birdie parents!

Love your baby blue Quaker they are great birds! I have had a couple myself. Here is some information on why parrot feathers change colors. What you see is bronzing, stress bars are lines through the feathers. I can dig up some pics to share if you like. I just read an article the other day on bronzing I will see if I can locate it asap. In the mean time here is a quick google search article that is pretty good. Why Are My Parrot's Feathers Changing Color? — All About Parrots

Thank you! I’ve never experienced stress bars nor bronzing on my birds so this was a bit confusing!

This is a fair article, some missing, and slightly inaccurate stuff. Kinda reads like someone who read some stuff and copied clicked. No sources sighted, not a specialist, who is this author??

On the top of the article it give a name. Once again I stated in the original post that it was a "quick google search article".
