Strep Throat

Did the search engine but nothing came up. I had a positive throat culture yesterday for strep and am on antiobiotics. My greenwings and Buddy give me lots of kisses in the morning. Can they get strep from close contact with me? My avian vet was Dr. Z and she died last month. I don't want to bother Plantation Anaimal Hospital's new avian vet inless this is a possibility. I know Mercer (staph) can be transmitted , but what about strep?

No, they shouldn't be able to catch strep from you. After you've been on antibiotics for 24 hours, you are no longer contageous anyway.

Thanks- google had lots of entries about birds to humans but just a few the other way around. Strep wasn't anywhere.
