I was wondering how long it would take Ollie to recognise strawberries on a plant. Not long!!

Hmmmmmm 2 strawberries with chunks bitten from them...

The slightly pink beak confirmed it...

"What pink beak? I'm nowhere near them.... I'm chewing bark not strawberries...."

At least he only took what he was gonna eat and did not destroy every fruit on the plant lol.

LOL - yes, he didn't think of destroying the evidence! It always amazes me that Ollie is so brave and inquisitive now. It's only since moving to our new house 4 years ago that he discovered there is a whole world of floors to explore! He's always loved strawberries though!

Burt loves the strawberries that I grow for him but if I buy them from the supermarket he takes one taste and piffs them on the floor! I must admit that I wish we were growing more as they smell so good and I really want to eat them but at the moment there is only enough for Burt to have one each few days......can not wait for the warmer weather so there are enough for Burt to share them with me

Hahahaha - same with Ollie - he's not so keen on the ones from the supermarket. Like you, there are only enough strawberries for Ollie to have one or a couple of small ones per day... not enough for anyone else and certainly not enough now that he's eating them straight off the plants. Luckily I have more in hanging baskets. I decided to grow lots this year. Strangely the rest of the flock doesn't like them.

Recently, after adding Coco the grey she has learned that nature branches do not bite!! They CAN be sat on.
Ohhh slowly we will get where Ollie is

Jan, Ollie's bravery has been an extremely slow process. He has been with me 9 years now. He has only become this inquisitive in the last couple of years. He was terrified of everything, including me, when he first came to live with us. Luka will become more confident in her own time.
