Hi there. My mother’s boyfriend found a starling fledging on a road in front of where he works. The baby appears to be blind?
After researching, I’ve been hand feeding high protein soaked cat food with some unsweetened applesauce and a little bit of calcium, about every hour until she/he is finished.

Please any advice will help.

Thats a wonderful website thank you! Do you feel this baby could be potentially blind?
Can't tell you if the baby might be blind without seeing him/her up close and personal?
What are you noticing that makes you think that? Not tracking movement? Bumping into things?
How long have you had the baby?

Hi. The eyes are bright clouded blue with a smudged pupil, which is not normal for these babies. That is the cause of my concern. I’ve since spoken to a starling FB group, and they seem to think he will be special needs. Poor thing.

At least he is in good hands. Does he have any reaction to light?
