Stained/painted wood furniture

Hi there

so my dad had an idea for a tree stand which was to buy a small cabinet or drawer tower and then to attach the actual stand to it.

the only problem I have with this, seeing as how we won’t be building the cabinet base, is that it will probably be stained or painted.

is this a bad idea or would it be safe so use?

thanks!

Sorry to say but bad idea. Any kind of paint is a big no-no.
If your bird isn't interested in furniture at all, then it should be fine.

A possible workaround would be tu buy an additional board (untreated birdsafe wood) and cover the cabinet with it.

Goodluck!

Replace the top or mount a safe piece of wood to the top of the cabinet. If you leave enough of an overhang they won't be able to access the drawers or material beneath the tray. :)
