Highly recommend arrowrood viburnum native to huge portion of us and Canada.
Or any of the other lovely native viburnum as berries also support wild birds

I just got an ad for hibiscus seeds that would yield blue and lavender flowers. I’m very tempted. They look otherworldly.

Well summer now! But wanted to share 2 butterflies on my swamp milkweed. Eastern giant swallowtail and pipevine swallowtail

Spicebush swallowtail, I've planted the pretty native spicebush ( lots of nursery carry it) and sassafras tree also a host for them I believe! Picture on swamp milkweed , all pollinators love milkweed nectar. And in marsh flea bane

I showed my pretty butterfly picture with an old friend. He said wow I haven't seen butterflies in a long time! Then he asked me why is that? Because people don't have the native host tree's, or plants in their developed neighborhoods anymore. The gorgeous tiger tail uses our native black cherry. Our nstuve to most of USA black cherry just makes a droop of tiny berries that Birds love! I've never had any mess issues with this awesome tree! He seemed inspired to plant some natives !

Yep it can stay there on its flower
