I was doing some sweeping up in my hallway and I could hear something, so I stood there listening in amazement and it was one of my Canaries singing. This is the first time I've heard him sing properly and it sounded so beautiful.

Its almost winter and my understanding they don't sing until the warmer months when its breeding season?

They are indoors and I have two males in an aviary shared with Zebra Finches.

I am also wondering if breeding season can be created indoors? I'm hoping to get a couple more canaries possibly some red and white canaries. Somebody has some for sale in my local area and they are going very cheap so its very tempting.

Maybe their breeding season is what it’d be where they’re from?

My canary sings year round. He's started molting about 10 days ago but still sings, not as much as before, this is the first time that I had a canary sing when molting. Usually they stop
