Hello guys, my birds do some kind of weird tongue roll at night, not sure if other birds do it cause my Quakers and Meyers both do it. Could it be something to say that they are sleepy??
( Not sure if this is how you post a video link )

Look like a contented part of beak grinding.

My GCC does it too. Every nap time and every night at bedtime.

Skyler does that all the time when she's relaxing or falling asleep... she runs her bottom beak and tongue over the rippled part of the underside of her top beak.. it's kinda like filing it down... kinda reminds me of someone who grinds their teeth when sleeping lol

That's just I'm happy to be here and I'm sleepy beak grind with tongue action. Lucky you, it means they are happy to be in your flock and feel secure. EVERY bird I've had has done it right down to our rescued Female House Finch, Beeper. :hug8:

Parrots beak grind to help keep their beaks in shape. They may be using their tongue to touch and feel their beak to see if it feels right to them and where they might need to grind more. Many parrots have ridges on the inside of their upper beak which helps to grind food down while they are eating.
