I haven't posted in a while so I just thought I'd post a few bird shots from my sunroom. Here's the gang enjoying some pool time:

Peeper, my Scarlet Chested Parakeet, is chomping on some hemp seeds while Twitter, my Rosy Bourke, enjoys the "pool":

Twitter decides to see if someone else wants to come in:

Pecker, the dove, decides to check it out:

But he gets the feeling we are being watched...

We are apparently under very tight surveillance!

How well do the doves and parrots get along? My diamonds are interested in Cheeky, but he lulls them into a false sense of security and at his soonest moment jumps at them beak ready for attack! I do think that Rainbow lories are quite jealous and territorial though.

My Bourke and Scarlet Chested Parakeets get along pretty well with my Ringneck Doves - but they are small parakeets with BIG doves. Even so, my female Bourke Parakeet sometimes chases the doves away. But luckily there is no biting. I think a Lorikeet with Diamond Doves could be more risky.

My parakeets and doves are only out together when I am there with them. Otherwise they are caged separately.

I used to have a couple of ringneck doves, they are really sweet aren't they! The diamonds are a lot more timid!
