I'm thinking about getting her a watter bottle.. Of course, I'll still keep her dish there for dunking if she wants, but then she'll always have *clean* water available, too.

lol Emily. I thought that would fix the problem... nope little missy takes the food and travels over to the other side of the cage with it in her mouth and goes and dumps it!

Both of my conures dunk their pellets. They prefer to eat them a little moist :D. One of my lorikeets, Prissy, used to put put her toys into her water dish as well as pieces of fruit.

My Meyer's parrot is the biggest dunker, followed by the Golden conure. No dunking at all from the toos.

All mine are food dunkers, though Lil' Pip, GCC, is by far the worst, lol. He dunks everything! He'll carry his fresh food across the cage just to dunk it. When he's finished dunking mash and pellets, he then gets his foot toys and drops them in. I think he likes to watch the stuff float/sink.

Apple dunks. Not that bad unless he takes a bath in his nasty, dunked in water. YUCK!

Sounds as if my five are quite normal then! They all dunk food in their water bowl at some point during the day. The worse culprit is Rambo, he puts just about all he can in his bowl and it looks like thick soup in no time at all. I am changing his bowl several times a day between his normal twice!:D

Sophie likes to put her cinnamon sticks in her water. Thats about all she dunks now. Zoey dunks her pellets too.

OMG!!! Truely not only dunks everything, she's figured out how to take a walnut shell and dump water on her food dish. :omg:

I agree with you! Besides it keeps them occupied. :dance4:

I had the vacuum going today & 6 out of my 9 birds dunk themselves into the water. What is it about vacuums, running water, & disposals that make birds want to bathe?
I'm relieved that someone else's birds bathe while you vacuum. There is also certain music that will trigger my Golden to bathe. It cracks me up! She goes into her water bowl head first and comes out soaked.

Elvis makes soup almost every day! Ringo has only done it a few times.
