So yesterday while playing with Squeeky and seeing him climb around his cage I saw that he had a darker pink round spot on the bottom of his foot. It wasn't a blister I don't think but it was a darker pink then the rest of his foot. Any idea what this could be?

Nope nothing that would have colored his foot. His toys that are colored are plastic. He also only gets non colored pellet that is what has me confused.

I have more experience with foot problems that I wanted.
It is probably some irritation from perching. Does he have a good variety of perches he uses?
Usually this is seen in larger birds because of weight, and can also happen from a Vit A deficiency.
When Chico came to me he had major developing foot problems because of poor diet and having only one perch. He was starting to develop bumblefoot.
I really doubt this in Squeeky, but birds do develop irritation from perching.
And, my Hahn's had a broken leg when young so he doesn't perch evenly all the time. I've avoided foot irritation by giving him both a rope snuggle ring and a happy hut, which he lays in much of the day.
Try giving him a variety of perches, huts, and watch the Vit A.

Thanks. He has different sized perches but most look like a tree branch. Maybe it has a sharp edge or something? I bought them from Petco. I will check to night to make sure they are all smooth.

I'd recommend giving him something a bit softer as one option - like a rope perch or one of the ones called a "comfy perch"

Oh, yes......and different diameters of perches to choose between are an excellent idea too.

My vet recommends using the cement perches that are rough as the sleeping perch. It helps prevent bumblefoot

Bumblefoot? What is that? I don't have any cement perches.

I will see if he will let me get a pic of his foot tonight. I am going to have to get him while he is climbing the side of the cage.

Yes different textures/hardness/diamiters are a must in every birds cages. I have a large java perch and a cement perch in Koba's cage and will be getting two large rope perches tomorrow as she destroyed her older one. That's probably all it is, I wouldn't worry too much. :)

I was told to give all the birds one cement perch that would help wear the claws down and also they use to clean and sharpen their beaks on.
Then they have one pink perch that looks it is made of soft material that is beneficial to them if digested. Trace minerals etc.
The rest are one rope perch and some branches that they chew on. :hug8:
