Hi.
Its since Friday that my Harold is wanting to sleep on me, and when doing so trembles. As far as the rest is concerned all is normal.
Something happened on Friday. While closing the cage door his front toe got caught. He let out a screech and was normal after, using his foot to preen and eat. I did bathe the foot as there was a tiny tiny bit of blood where the nail meets the foot and ive massaged all his toes to see his reaction and all seems normal.
So my question is: is it normal for macaws to want to sleep on us and if so, while trying to do so, is it normal for them to tremble a bit ?
Thank you.
Joanna.

I had to search for Harold's age (I think I found about 10 years?).
Whether the sleeping and trembling is due to the accident is hard to tell.
He may be feeling a bit frightened and wanting comfort.
Or, he may be starting to feel hormonal. He is the perfect age for it, and spring is upon us.
I'd keep cuddling to a minimum to prevent provoking any hormonal thoughts.
If it's insecurity it should lessen fairly quickly.
If it's hormones, it may escalate.
